As students have become more discerning customers of universities their expectations of what their living spaces should be like have also risen. This is our first project for Bowmer and Kirkland on behalf of Unite Students, who design and build student accommodation fit for modern expectations. We’re delighted to be returning to Sheffield, a city we know well, to work on St Vincent’s Place.
St Vincent’s Place is a new development close to both Sheffield and Sheffield Hallam universities which incorporates a converted Victorian chapel which is now home to communal areas including a cinema, pool tables and table football plus a presentation room and quiet study areas. Home to 600 students, all of the accommodation is has its own bathroom, but there’s a choice of studio apartments for truly solo living, or larger apartments where the kitchen and living area are shared.
Working on both interior and exterior elements, we wrapped up this project in 10 months, on time for the new 2018/19 students to move into their homes.
