Rotherham-based Intex Systems has been awarded a contract to carry out repairs to The Lowry, the iconic visual and performing arts space in Salford.
The Lowry celebrates 20 years in 2020 and the Intex team will be assessing and repairing its external cladding ahead of the anniversary.
Work is due to start in September 2019 and last until the end of the year, in a contract worth £100,000 for the growing firm.
Commercial director Chris Connor said: “We are well-known for our expertise in installing cladding and have worked on some of the most recognisable buildings across the north, especially in Manchester.
“And knowing how to install cladding well means we’re perfectly placed to know how best to maintain it to extend the life of this popular building material.
“We are delighted to be working with The Lowry to give their building a spruce up ahead of an important anniversary year. Our work should extend the life of the cladding and make it look almost as good as new.”
This is the fifthproject Intex Systems has underway in Manchester and Salford as teams also work on the new Hampton by Hilton hotel near the Northern Quarter, on Manchester Waters, on Downtown Manchester – a new apartment complex on the banks of the River Irwell, and on Tower II, the second of four towers in Media City which make up the North West.
